Day 4-8 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0241 AM CDT Fri Mar 27 2020 Valid 301200Z - 041200Z ...DISCUSSION...
The potential for organized severe thunderstorms will likely focus
during the early part of the work week in the Gulf Coast states. Medium-range models (i.e., EC and GFS) are beginning to show some
run-to-run continuity with a disturbance progged to move from west
to east across the southern U.S. Some uncertainty remains regarding
destabilization inland owing in part to surface low
placement/development. Nonetheless, increased potential for severe
may eventually focus from east TX into MS Day 4 and into AL/GA/FL
Panhandle on Day 5. A severe highlight may be introduced for the
next extended outlook update if model continuity holds. By Wednesday (Day 6), offshore low-level flow into the Gulf will
likely preclude appreciable northward moisture return into the
continent through Friday (Day 8), resulting in low potential for
organized severe.
