Tornado Warning for Marion County TN and 1 More

MORRISTOWN, TN (743 PM CDT Tue Mar 24 2020) — The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a Tornado Warning for Southwestern Sequatchie County in east Tennessee Northeastern Marion County in east Tennessee until 815 PM CDT. At 742 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Tracy City, or 11 miles north of Jasper, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD: Tornado. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include Whitwell, Powells Crossroads, Cartwright, Griffith Creek, Foster Falls State Park, Chimneys State Park, Fiery Gizzard State Park and Lone Oak. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
