Thunderstorm Warning for Madison County AL and 1 More

HUNTSVILLE, AL (728 PM CDT Tue Mar 24 2020) — The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for West central Jackson County in northeastern Alabama Central Madison County in north central Alabama until 815 PM CDT. At 728 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over southwestern Huntsville, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Huntsville, Scottsboro, Redstone Arsenal, Moores Mill, Skyline, Gurley, Alabama A And M University, University Of Alabama In Huntsville, Pleasant Groves and Paint Rock. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for north central and northeastern Alabama: and Middle Tennessee. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
