Day 3 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1222 AM CST Fri Feb 14 2020 Valid 161200Z - 171200Z ...NO THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY...
Thunderstorms are not expected on Sunday. ...Synopsis... Quasi-zonal flow will develop across much of the CONUS on Sunday as
the eastern low-amplitude upper trough shifts offshore over the
western Atlantic. An upper trough will dig southward across the
Pacific Northwest into the Great Basin/northern Rockies vicinity. A
belt of strong deep-layer westerly flow will stretch from CA through
the mid-section of the country to the Mid-Atlantic vicinity. In
response, weak lee cyclogenesis will occur over the central/southern
Plains. While this will result in weak Gulf return flow bringing
modest moistening from eastern OK/TX through the lower MS Valley, a
lack of stronger upper forcing and generally dry boundary layer
conditions will preclude thunderstorm activity. ..Leitman.. 02/14/2020
