TALLAHASSEE, FL (1155 AM EDT SUN MAY 12 2019) — The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Henry County in southeastern Alabama Northeastern Houston County in southeastern Alabama Northern Miller County in southwestern Georgia Clay County in southwestern Georgia Southwestern Randolph County in southwestern Georgia Southwestern Calhoun County in southwestern Georgia Early County in southwestern Georgia until 1230 PM EDT/1130 AM CDT/. At 1155 AM EDT/1055 AM CDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles south of Texasville to 9 miles west of Blakely to 7 miles south of Columbia, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD: 70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include Abbeville, Fort Gaines, Blakely, Arlington, Columbia, Douglasville, Centerville, Damascus, Bellville, Haleburg, Bluffton, Shorterville, Parksville, Hayes, Scottsboro Crossroads, Pecan, Rock Hill, Thomas Mill Creek, Fort Gaines-Clay Airport and Rowena. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
