GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG, SC (234 PM EDT Sat May 11 2019) — The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Tornado Warning for West central Mecklenburg County in the Piedmont of North Carolina Southeastern Gaston County in the Piedmont of North Carolina until 315 PM EDT. At 233 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Gastonia, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD: Tornado and half dollar size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Ranlo around 240 PM EDT. Mcadenville, Cramerton, Belmont and Lowell around 250 PM EDT. Mt Holly around 300 PM EDT. Paw Creek and Northwest Charlotte around 310 PM EDT. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows.
