GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG, SC (521 PM EDT Sat May 11 2019) — The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Union County in the Piedmont of North Carolina until 545 PM EDT. At 520 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles east of Monroe, or near Marshville, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines. Locations impacted include Marshville and Sturdivants. Scattered trees and power lines will be blown down in the warned area. Seek shelter inside an interior room.
