Thunderstorm Warning for Chester County SC and 1 More

GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG, SC (431 PM EDT Sat May 11 2019) — The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northeastern Chester County in Upstate South Carolina Southeastern York County in Upstate South Carolina until 515 PM EDT. At 431 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles north of Chester, or near Lowrys, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines. Locations impacted include Rock Hill, Lesslie, Mcconnells, Lowrys, Edgemoor and Catawba. Scattered trees and power lines will be blown down in the warned area. Seek shelter inside an interior room.
