Thunderstorm Warning for Appomattox County VA and 1 More

BLACKSBURG, VA (529 PM EDT Sat May 11 2019) — The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Appomattox County in central Virginia Northeastern Campbell County in central Virginia until 630 PM EDT At 529 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Gladys, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Appomattox Concord Rustburg Pamplin City and Mike. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. For your safety, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
