BINGHAMTON, NY (301 PM EDT Fri May 10 2019) — The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Oneida County in central New York until 330 PM EDT. At 301 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles northeast of Utica to near New Hartford to near Clinton, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Public. Damage has been reported with the storm near Clinton. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Utica, Paris, Deerfield, New York Mills, Yorkville, New Hartford, Clayville, Chadwicks, Maynard and Hubbard Corners. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
