Thunderstorm Warning for Fresno County CA and 1 More

SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY, CA (747 PM PDT THU MAY 9 2019) — The National Weather Service in Hanford CA has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for East central Madera County in central California Northeastern Fresno County in central California until 815 PM PDT. At 746 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles southeast of Oakhurst, or 18 miles south of Yosemite South Entrance, moving southeast at around 15 mph. HAZARD: Quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Damage to vehicles is expected. Locations impacted include Oakhurst, Chilkoot Meadow, Peckinpah, Auberry, Coarsegold, Bass Lake, Crane Valley Reservoir, North Fork, Poison Ridge and Shaver Lake. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
