WAKEFIELD, VA (1151 AM EDT FRI APR 26 2019) — The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northwestern Camden County in northeastern North Carolina East central Hertford County in northeastern North Carolina Northern Gates County in northeastern North Carolina The western City of Norfolk in southeastern Virginia The western City of Chesapeake in southeastern Virginia The City of Franklin in southeastern Virginia Isle of Wight County in southeastern Virginia The City of Portsmouth in southeastern Virginia East central Southampton County in southeastern Virginia The City of Suffolk in southeastern Virginia The City of Hampton in southeastern Virginia The City of Newport News in southeastern Virginia until 1230 PM EDT. At 1151 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Sedley to near Holland to near Cofield, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect wind damage to trees and powerlines. Severe thunderstorms will be near, Holland and Carrsville around 1155 AM EDT. Zuni around 1200 PM EDT. Windsor, Downtown Suffolk and Isle Of Wight around 1205 PM EDT. Kings Fork, Whaleyville and Corapeake around 1210 PM EDT. Smithfield and Driver around 1215 PM EDT. Crittenden and Rescue around 1220 PM EDT. Christopher Newport University, Churchland, Suffolk, Denbigh, Fort Eustis and Beaconsdale around 1225 PM EDT. Newport News, Hampton, Hampton University, Deep Creek, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Northampton, Bowers Hill, Fort Monroe and Western Branch around 1230 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include South Norfolk, Portlock, Carrollton, Longview, Savage, Huntersville, Topsy, Dort, Chuckatuck and Wilroy.
