Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0753 PM CDT Wed Apr 24 2019 Valid 250100Z - 251200Z ...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FROM THE TX
COAST INTO THE LOWER MS VALLEY... ...SUMMARY...
Isolated severe thunderstorms will continue from the TX coast into
the lower MS Valley tonight. ...Discussion... Dynamically driven MCS is spreading across east TX with a trailing
band of strong storms extending southwest along a cold front into
deep south TX. 00z soundings from CRP/BRO exhibit fairly steep
mid-level lapse rates but appreciable capping beneath 700mb. Radar
data suggests hail likely accompanies the strongest updrafts but
this activity is gradually weakening and mostly sub-severe or near
1". Overall, severe probs appear to be somewhat lower than earlier
today given recent trends and diagnostic data. For these reasons
will maintain MRGL Risk into the lower MS Valley for some threat of
hail/wind and perhaps a brief tornado. ..Darrow.. 04/25/2019
