STATE COLLEGE, PA (853 PM EDT TUE APR 23 2019) — The National Weather Service in State College PA has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northwestern York County in south central Pennsylvania Central Cumberland County in south central Pennsylvania until 915 PM EDT. At 850 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Walnut Bottom, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect damage to trees, roofs, and siding. Locations impacted include Carlisle, Mechanicsburg, Shippensburg, Plainfield, Boiling Springs, Dillsburg, Mount Holly Springs, Newville, New Kingstown, Siddonsburg, Walnut Bottom, Franklintown, Messiah College, Penn State Dickinson School Of Law and Shippensburg University. This includes the following Interstates The Pennsylvania Turnpike near mile marker 222: and from mile markers 229 to 236. Interstate 81 from mile markers 28 to 50. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
