SAN ANGELO, TX (607 PM CDT Tue Apr 23 2019) — The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northeastern Callahan County in west central Texas until 645 PM CDT. At 606 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles north of Rowden, or 8 miles southeast of Baird, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Putnam, Atwell, Admiral and I-20 Near The Callahan-Eastland County Line. This includes Interstate 20 between Mile Markers 310 and 323. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay away from windows.
