GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG, SC (206 PM EDT Fri Apr 19 2019) — The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Tornado Warning for Southwestern Chester County in Upstate South Carolina Southeastern Union County in Upstate South Carolina until 245 PM EDT. At 206 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 8 miles north of Newberry, or 6 miles south of Whitmire, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD: Tornado. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include Monarch Mill, Carlisle, Leeds, Tuckertown, Santuc and Adamsburg. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows.
