RALEIGH, NC (221 PM EDT FRI APR 19 2019) — The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Tornado Warning for Northwestern Moore County in central North Carolina Northeastern Montgomery County in central North Carolina Southeastern Randolph County in central North Carolina until 245 PM EDT At 221 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Troy, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD: Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include Asheboro, Troy, North Carolina Zoo, Biscoe, Seagrove, Star, Steeds and Ulah. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
