Tornado Warning for Patrick County VA and 1 More

BLACKSBURG, VA (941 AM EDT Fri Apr 19 2019) — The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a Tornado Warning for North central Stokes County in north central North Carolina Southeastern Patrick County in southwestern Virginia until 1015 AM EDT At 941 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Danbury, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD: Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include Danbury Sandy Ridge Patrick Springs Penns Store and Critz. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
