Tornado Warning for Cumberland County NC and 1 More

RALEIGH, NC (410 PM EDT FRI APR 19 2019) — The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Tornado Warning for Harnett County in central North Carolina Northwestern Cumberland County in central North Carolina until 445 PM EDT At 410 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Pope AFB, or near Fort Bragg, moving north at 60 mph. HAZARD: Tornado. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include Fayetteville, Lillington, Fort Bragg, Angier, Pope AFB, Spring Lake, Coats, Raven Rock State Park, Bonnie Doone and Pineview. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris. Heavy rainfall may hide this tornado.
