TOPEKA, KS (908 PM CDT WED APR 17 2019) — The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a Tornado Warning for Southern Franklin County in east central Kansas Northern Anderson County in east central Kansas until 1000 PM CDT. At 908 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Harris, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD: Tornado and half dollar size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Richmond around 930 PM CDT. Princeton around 935 PM CDT. Greeley around 940 PM CDT. Lane and Rantoul around 950 PM CDT. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
