WICHITA, KS (727 PM CDT WED APR 17 2019) — The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southern Sedgwick County in south central Kansas Northwestern Sumner County in south central Kansas until 830 PM CDT. At 725 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Conway Springs, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Wichita, Derby, Haysville, Mulvane, Goddard, Clearwater, Conway Springs, Argonia, Viola, South Wichita, Mcconnell Air Force Base, Milan, Oaklawn, Lake Afton and Riverdale. This includes the following highways Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 0 and 1. Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 27 and 43. This replaces the warning over northwest Sumner and southern Sedgwick Counties. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
