TULSA, OK (1021 PM CDT Wed Apr 17 2019) — The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Osage County in northeastern Oklahoma Southeastern Pawnee County in northeastern Oklahoma until 1100 PM CDT. At 1021 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles northeast of Grainola to 5 miles east of Burbank to 6 miles northeast of Blackburn to 2 miles northwest of Jennings, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD: 70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations in or near the path include Tulsa Bartlesville Sand Springs Pawhuska Skiatook Hominy Cleveland Barnsdall Sperry Shidler Wynona Jennings Avant Westport Osage Hallett Blackburn Terlton Maramec Elgin Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespread significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. These storms may cause serious injury and significant property damage.
