Thunderstorm Warning for Franklin County KS and 1 More

TOPEKA, KS (843 PM CDT WED APR 17 2019) — The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Franklin County in east central Kansas Northeastern Anderson County in east central Kansas until 945 PM CDT. At 842 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 5 miles southwest of Princeton to near Burlington, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD: Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE: Radar indicated. People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Ottawa, Wellsville, Richmond, Greeley, Princeton, Lane and Rantoul. This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 176 and 198. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
