FORT WORTH, TX (958 PM CDT Wed Apr 17 2019) — The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Montague County in north central Texas Northeastern Wise County in north central Texas Northwestern Denton County in north central Texas Southern Cooke County in north central Texas until 1100 PM CDT. At 957 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles east of Alvord, or 8 miles north of Decatur, moving northeast at 5 mph. Another strong to severe storm was located near Tioga in southern Cooke County. This storm was also moving slowly to the northeast at 5 to 10 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Gainesville, Sanger, Alvord, Callisburg, Lake Kiowa and Valley View. This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 480 and 498. For your protection get inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows. Heavy rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
