BIRMINGHAM, AL (718 AM CDT SUN APR 14 2019) — The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Tornado Warning for Central Pike County in southeastern Alabama Bullock County in southeastern Alabama until 800 AM CDT. At 718 AM CDT, a tornado producing storm was located near Troy Municipal Airport, or near Troy, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD: Damaging tornado. SOURCE: Radar confirmed tornado. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include Troy, Union Springs, Brundidge, Midway, Banks, Pickett, Aberfoil, Franklin Field, Antioch, Beans Crossroads, Linwood, Troy Municipal Airport, Troy University, Tanyard, Sedgefield, High Ridge, Monticello, Perote, Josie and Sandfield. To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows.
