CHARLESTON, WV (537 PM EDT Sun Apr 14 2019) — The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Morgan County in southeastern Ohio Athens County in southeastern Ohio Northeastern Vinton County in southeastern Ohio until 600 PM EDT. At 537 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Athens, moving northeast at 70 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Athens, Nelsonville, Glouster, McConnelsville, Albany, Chesterhill, Lake Hope State Park, Chauncey, Malta, Buchtel, Stockport, Jacksonville, Trimble, Bristol, Amesville, Stroud Run State Park, Burr Oak State Park, Hackney, Eagleport and The Plains. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for southeastern Ohio. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
