CHARLESTON, WV (417 PM EDT Sun Apr 14 2019) — The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northwestern Jackson County in southeastern Ohio Vinton County in southeastern Ohio until 500 PM EDT. At 417 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 13 miles northwest of Wellston, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Jackson, Mcarthur, Lake Hope State Park, Hamden, Coalton, Zaleski, Allensville, Creola, Eagle Mills and Byer. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for southeastern Ohio. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
