STATE COLLEGE, PA (1058 PM EDT SUN APR 14 2019) — The National Weather Service in State College PA has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Eastern Bedford County in south central Pennsylvania Huntingdon County in central Pennsylvania Southwestern Mifflin County in central Pennsylvania Western Franklin County in south central Pennsylvania Western Centre County in central Pennsylvania Fulton County in south central Pennsylvania Blair County in central Pennsylvania until 1145 PM EDT. At 1058 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Blandburg to near Everett to 6 miles west of Inglesmith, moving northeast at 55 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Altoona, State College, Huntingdon, Bellefonte, Hollidaysburg, Tyrone, Breezewood, Park Forest Village, Boalsburg, Warfordsburg, Roaring Spring, Mount Union, Stormstown, Lemont, Clearville, Bald Eagle, New Enterprise, Martinsburg, Lakemont and Everett. For those driving on Interstate 80, this includes areas between the Snow Shoe and Milesburg exits, specifically from mile markers 149 to 157. This includes the following Interstates Interstate 70 from mile markers 147 to 170. The Pennsylvania Turnpike from mile markers 149 to 190. Interstate 99 from mile markers 18 to 79. A Tornado Watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not immediately likely, if one is spotted, act quickly and move to a place of safety inside a sturdy structure such as a basement or small interior room.
