Tornado Warning for Washington County AL and 1 More

MOBILE, AL (1105 PM CDT Sat Apr 13 2019) — The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Tornado Warning for Southwestern Choctaw County in southwestern Alabama Northwestern Washington County in southwestern Alabama until 1130 PM CDT. At 1105 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 5 miles west of Millry, or 14 miles east of Waynesboro, moving north at 45 mph. HAZARD: Tornado. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Silas around 1115 PM CDT. Gilbertown around 1125 PM CDT. Toxey around 1130 PM CDT. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris. Tornadoes are extremely difficult to see and confirm at night.
