Tornado Warning for Jones County MS and 3 More

JACKSON, MS (1108 PM CDT SAT APR 13 2019) — The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Tornado Warning for Southeastern Jasper County in east central Mississippi Clarke County in east central Mississippi Northeastern Jones County in southeastern Mississippi South central Lauderdale County in east central Mississippi until 1215 AM CDT. At 1107 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Tuckers Crossing, or near Laurel, moving northeast at 65 mph. HAZARD: Tornado. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Mill Creek around 1115 PM CDT. Sandersville around 1120 PM CDT. Heidelberg and Stafford Springs around 1125 PM CDT. Goodwater and Barnett around 1130 PM CDT. De Soto around 1135 PM CDT. Quitman around 1140 PM CDT. Stonewall and Sykes around 1145 PM CDT. Sable and Middleton around 1150 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Pachuta. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
