Tornado Warning for Choctaw County MS and 3 More

JACKSON, MS (856 PM CDT SAT APR 13 2019) — The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Tornado Warning for Northeastern Choctaw County in central Mississippi Northwestern Oktibbeha County in northeastern Mississippi Eastern Webster County in north central Mississippi Northwestern Clay County in northeastern Mississippi until 1000 PM CDT. At 855 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Chester, or 21 miles northwest of Louisville, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD: Tornado. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Reform around 900 PM CDT. Sherwood around 910 PM CDT. Maben and Mathiston around 915 PM CDT. Clarkson around 920 PM CDT. Cumberland and Pheba around 925 PM CDT. Montpelier around 940 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Mantee. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
