Thunderstorm Warning for Oconee County SC and 1 More

GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG, SC (127 PM EDT Tue Apr 9 2019) — The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southwestern Pickens County in Upstate South Carolina Central Oconee County in Upstate South Carolina until 215 PM EDT. At 127 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles south of Walhalla, or near Westminster, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines. Locations impacted include Clemson, Seneca, Walhalla, Central, Westminster, Norris, Six Mile, Salem, Lake Keowee and Oakway. Scattered trees and power lines will be blown down in the warned area. Seek shelter inside an interior room.
