Tornado Warning for Amite County MS and 2 More

NEW ORLEANS, LA (556 PM CDT Sun Apr 7 2019) — The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Tornado Warning for North central East Feliciana Parish in southeastern Louisiana Eastern Wilkinson County in southern Mississippi Western Amite County in southern Mississippi until 630 PM CDT. At 555 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Norwood, or 9 miles northwest of Clinton, moving north at 20 mph. HAZARD: Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Centreville around 615 PM CDT. Gloster around 630 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Crosby. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
