Thunderstorm Warning for McMullen County TX and 1 More

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (442 AM CDT Sun Apr 7 2019) — The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Eastern McMullen County in south central Texas West central Live Oak County in south central Texas until 530 AM CDT. At 441 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles north of Loma Alta, or 12 miles south of Tilden, moving north at 30 mph. HAZARD: Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE: Radar indicated. People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Choke Canyon, Tilden, Calliham and Crowther. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay away from windows. If on or near Choke Canyon Reservoir, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
