NEW ORLEANS, LA (749 PM CDT Sun Apr 7 2019) — The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for North central Ascension Parish in southeastern Louisiana St. Helena Parish in southeastern Louisiana Livingston Parish in southeastern Louisiana Northeastern East Feliciana Parish in southeastern Louisiana Tangipahoa Parish in southeastern Louisiana Eastern East Baton Rouge Parish in southeastern Louisiana Southwestern Pike County in southern Mississippi Amite County in southern Mississippi until 845 PM CDT. At 749 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Darlington to near Montpelier to near French Settlement, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD: 70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include Hammond, Liberty, Greensburg, Amite, Ponchatoula, Walker, Amite City, Magnolia, Kentwood, Livingston, Independence, Roseland, French Settlement, Albany, Port Vincent, Springfield, Osyka, Montpelier, Smithdale and Darlington. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
