CHARLESTON, SC (319 PM EDT SAT APR 6 2019) — The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of McIntosh County in southeastern Georgia until 415 PM EDT. At 318 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles south of Tibet, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect wind damage to trees and powerlines. Locations impacted include Darien, Townsend, Wolf Island, Crescent, Carnigan, Eulonia, Valona and Sapelo Island. This warning includes I-95 in Georgia between mile markers 50 and 61. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. If this is not possible, avoid open outdoor spaces and remain low.
