AMARILLO, TX (341 PM CDT FRI MAR 22 2019) — The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Tornado Warning for Northeastern Oldham County in the Panhandle of Texas South central Hartley County in the Panhandle of Texas until 430 PM CDT. At 340 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 11 miles north of Adrian, or 20 miles northwest of Vega, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD: Tornado and golf ball size hail. SOURCE: Weather spotters reported funnel cloud. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern Oldham and south central Hartley Counties. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
