Tornado Warning for Deaf Smith County TX and 2 More

AMARILLO, TX (622 PM CDT FRI MAR 22 2019) — The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Tornado Warning for Northwestern Randall County in the Panhandle of Texas Eastern Deaf Smith County in the Panhandle of Texas Southern Potter County in the Panhandle of Texas until 645 PM CDT. At 621 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 8 miles south of Wildorado, or 16 miles southeast of Vega, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD: Tornado and golf ball size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include Bushland. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
